i5 750 overclocked using standard Vcore settings and enabling Turbo Boost. This combination fully utilizes the powersaving features of the i5 (i.e speedstep, turboboost) where the CPU frequency and CPU core voltage are dynamically changed according to actual demands. This results in a very low power consumption and low temperatures when the PC has little to do, but at the same time the CPU are able to go full throttle with higher powerconsumption and temperatures when the circumstances demands it. The best of both worlds! - With the current settings this particular i5 750 will go all the way up to 4.0 GHz on one core with Vcore at 1.248 V and all the way down to 1500 MHz with Vcore at 0.848V when there is less to do, like when browsing. When all 4 cores are working at the same time the CPU frequency will settle at around 3500 MHz with Vcore at 1.168V.

  • turbo boost is only stable at 3.6GHz, anything highest than that with a entry Motherboard will fired your Mosfets on your motherboard so be careful, Any high-end motherboard can hold the turbo boost being enable at 3.8Ghz (4.0GHz TB)and sometimes 4.0Ghz (4.2GHZ TB) but that also means that you must increase the voltage a bit as well. so make sure you run a Prime95 for 24 hours and a Memtest86 for 24 hours to see stability

  • Can you post about your bios settings and which mobo and cooler you use?

  • cool info thankyou

  • thanks to you, now I know how turbo boost works.... great vid.......

  • what kind of cpu cooler are you using?

  • i5 runs great on stock settings i havent felt the need to oc it it yet.

  • i didnt like the turbo boost, it makes games run odd, like in cod4 i run slightly faster then everyone else, and in racing games it runs normal then it stops for a split second, idk if its the game or wat but when i turn it off games run better, but i rather OC it normaly then turbo boost
