In her 5-part oral history interview, actress Suzanne Pleshette talks about her early years as an actress in film (The Geisha Boy), television (Playhouse 90, One Step Beyond), and Broadway ("The Miracle Worker"). She discusses her friendship with Alfred Hitchcock that began on the feature film The Birds. She speaks about her television work, including The Bob Newhart Show, in which she played Newhart's wife "Emily Hartley," including her surprise in the series finale of Newhart. She talks about several other appearances on TV including Columbo, Leona Helmsley: The Queen of Mean (in which she played the title role), and 8 Simple Rules and recounted the personalities of many people she worked with throughout her career.

SHE WAS SOOOOO BRILLIANT ...a STAR in every respect..with the heart and soul of the classiest most intelligent and grounded human being...such a role model..oops I wrote too much again..forgive...thank you!!!! for posting this timeless treasured interviews.

  • My late husband had a crush on her and he would have loved this interview. She is so honest and forthcoming. I had no idea that her father was at the Paramount in New York. What a childhood she had. Great having this for the record.
