Enigmatic chilling song - loved this in the 70s.

ive actually never heard of this group, this is the first song and the first time ive ever seen or heard of them but this is awsome. too bad we really dont have this kind of music these days.

I think that one good aspect of the vey late 1970's was that an interesting crop of women singers emerged . Lene Lovich was hard to categorise, she had Pop influences , but more dramatic and quirky to be too mainstream. Lene seemed to also want to buy into the heavy bass with keyboard sounds that The Stranglers adopted. Certainly a very talented artist.

This was Lovich's "only" appearence on Musikladen on October 18, 1979 as it was the reckoning of New Wave and Punk music on the German show with a quiet audience. As I watched this with no logo's last night on the official box set, as Lene is dressed in some Bird Lady costume, as however she done this after 'Lucky Number's One' as however Bette Midler was on after in this same show.

I remember when this first came out. I was an impressionable teenager and she blew my mind with this song. I've never been the same. I don't know why she wasn't hugely successful.

@shozzy77 Gaga has a quirky look. That is all. Her music sounds like everything else on the radio, and anyone who disagrees I highly suggest listening to artists like Lene to hear what ACTUAL unique music sounds like.
