if u have an older pc, u just turn on ur comp, and leave it until all the battery goes out, like EVERYTHING is out of the battery, then charge it for like 12 hours, then the battery will last LOOOOONG, my friend teach me the trick, basically u release all the crystal inside the battery therefore when u charge there are more room for electric.

Does the Vista Battery saver just deactivate Aero, the Sidebar and change the power plans? You can click on advanced options in the power plan optioncenter and make one own plan for energy saving when the computer is running on bettery and one when it's running on the power network. The same result without a programe.
