Well, i know one secret of Yoga, would like to share.
If u pick up any asana and be in it for 3 hours contineousely; u will feel amazing peace and u get holly powers with gradual practice! I do sarwangasana and can do now for 15 minutes. Feels great, try it out.

IMHO, ego mind makes literal and metaphorical knots in the body. "Effort" comes from addressing those knots, and ego's resistance to do so. In time, as body relaxes and mind opens, knots dissipate and effort becomes minimal. Ironically, avoiding an empty mind and relaxed body is where effort becomes an issue (and where yoga practice and "fitness exercise" differ...)

I don't mean to pick a fight, but your post left me wondering... I'm not sure if ashtanga yoga is ever really effortless. It may look effortless sometimes, of course.

When Yoga is correct, there is beauty and grace, power and poise. The body glows and the inner light shines and is evident. When it's effortless to perform and watch, you know it's true.
