My first homemade pond skimmer. It is from a paint ball container. At this point the only thing inside is pantyhose to catch leaves and the pump.

I took metal wire and made it into the shape of the bucket, then attached wire to holes i made in the four corners of the bucket to hold it right below the waterline. I took fishing line and a needle and sewed the pantyhose to the square wire. I used silicone to fill in the holes from the pond pump plug in and for the exit hole for the pumped water. I have a separate filter not yet installed to filter beneath the waterline. In my next video I have cut a hole in the top and installed a blue mazus water plant that will spread quickly and cover the top of the bucket.

  • u got a new one ? let me see

  • I didnt make a video of it... Basically, I just made it so it sits outside the pond, and in the ground. I cut a hole in my pond and it spills into the strainer. I have a pump that pumps the strained water back into the pond...

It's better because it is unseen now.

Ya that guy who commented before was a jerk. I just made the video to give people a cheap alternative to buying a "real" strainer!
