Elf Ear surgery the new fad in body modification

A new body modification fad is sweeping America. People are paying to have their ears pointed like elves.

Ear cartilage is sliced and remolded to form a point. The procedure is painful since body artists are not licensed to administer anesthesia.

The look is reminiscent of popular characters like Arwen from Lord of the Rings and Mr. Spock from Star Trek.

Doctors warn of complications, including massive infection and the risk of losing one's ear.

This isn't the first strange body mod trend. Tongue-forking and head-spiking emerged in the 1990s.
