Nothing like a huge chunk of beef cooking over a fire...a gas grill cooks it to perfection! (Sorry Vegetarians)

  • Nice job! How many people did you feed with it? I'm thinking of doing the same thing for our New Year's day dinner. I'm trying to prepare my menu to feed 20-25 people.

Did you use the infrared burner, the main burners or a combination of both?

Did you smoke it as well?

    Big thanks. Again... nice work!

  • @lusignans Hi, I think it fed about 13 people with a little bit left over, you'll probably need 2 roasts for 25 (maybe cook one in the oven), did not smoke it (although that sounds good), I believe we only used the bottom burners...this was the second time we did this, the first one was a little over-cooked, this one perfect, this has become a once a year tradition...I"ll try for a better video on the next one:)

  • Hi, I think the roast was about 16 lbs, I cut cross hatch on the surface and rubbed it with salt/pepper/garlic and painted the ends with melted butter. First 15 minutes (lid down) 450 (this grill has a temp gauge on lid), then drop temp to 325 (we would open the grill often to check), to control flare ups you can pour milk or baking soda. The grease pan is under the burners, we had to remove the grills the make room for it to spin. About 3 hours, check with a GOOD meat thermometer.

  • Wow that was nice...

  • @Dorisequador thanks! I wish I filmed it after carving...but the camera was the last thing on my mind:) Delicious!
