In seasons past, Grandma only had to worry about getting run over by a reindeer. With "Grandma Got Run Over by TSA," web sensation Remy gets us in the holiday mood with a song about Christmas, Homeland Security, and the joys of civil rights abuses.

"Grandma Got Run Over by TSA" is one of a series of collaborations between Remy and Reason.tv. To watch Remy's other videos, go to http:youtube.com/goremy

Approximately 2:25 minutes. Music by Remy. Video shot and produced by Meredith Bragg.

Lyrics:

Grandma got indefinitely detained now
coming home to visit Christmas Eve
You could say she had a right to counsel
but some folks in the Congress disagree

she was flying home to our house
when she got checked by TSA
thought she might be Abdulmutallab
when they looked at her X-ray

Her hair had recently been colored
she paid cash for her Christmas gifts
two things apparently the Congress
says just might make you a terrorist

Grandma got indefinitely detained now
coming home to visit Christmas Eve
you could claim there's no right to due process
but check the 5th amendment and you'll see

they say they need to have these powers
to help protect this free country
but if it takes these steps to do so
what is it we are protecting?

Now she's an enemy combatant
as if that makes any sense
the only thing that she's combating
is her unpredictable incontinence

Grandma got indefinitely detained now
trying to come visit Christmas Eve
they took her rights in order to...protect rights..
the most genius plan ever in history

Grandma got indefinitely detained now
never made it home on Christmas day
she always wanted to live in Miami
at least now she's 90 miles away

  • @Ford289HiPo Seems like you don't know what you're talking about. Do you even know who Ron Paul is? He's one of the very few politicians that actually can be trusted. Look at his record.

  • @Antistotle The MCA of 2006 set up a tribunal system. Either the President or the DoD can declare virtually anyone a "terrorist". Once that happens, you are an "enemy combatant", & you lose ALL rights. And ANY federal force can hunt you down, indefinitely detain you, & even kill you. The NDAA expanded the war of terror to within the borders of the US. So, have to correct you on that. Once the Pres or the DoD says you're a baddie, it's over. Welcome to the USSA.

  • @Se7enBeatleofDoom

You cannot be arrested by the U.S. Military in the US[1] and be held indefinitely without a trial. That is NOT what the law says. You CAN be arrested by civilians (State and Local PD/Sheriff or Federal officers) and TURNED OVER to the military. This is distinctly different in that the police have to have reason to claim you're a terrorist that they have to explain to the military. Meaning you have to piss off two separate groups.

    [1]Except ON a military base.

  • @brasa218 LOL He said the same thing about National Defense Authorization Act. Look how that turned out? It was signed into law by Obama him self. Now you can get arrested by the U.S military and be held with out a trail. If someone in power say your a threat to them in anyway. You don"t even have your freedom of speech anymore.

  • @JTNugget He went into politics. That alone is enough for me. I agree with you on his record, which is easy enough to verify. If you're into voting, I agree he's the best lot to cast into, but I just don't see our system as something that needs to be given any more positive reinforcement. I assure you, I am not paranoid about it, and I am in fact, calculating and relatively well read. As for your statement of youtube judging us, that is irrelevant at best. It's just you and I, here.

  • @Se7enBeatleofDoom Obama is against SOPA....

  • @nazaxprime What has he done to jeopardize your trust? He's always been a mostly open book, very RARELY ever changing his views and political stances. He's also incorruptible, lobbyists don't even bother trying to bribe him. That's an extremely rare thing. You continue to be ultra paranoid, and we'll let youtube decide who is the lunatic here.

  • @JTNugget "politicians that actually can be trusted" Listen to yourself, you lunatic... Ron Paul may be the best of the lot, but he is a politician and for that alone he deserves my contempt, as does anyone that believes they should be able to make rules and enforce them on others. I know its hard to justify, considering all things, but stop voting... that alone is your consent to the dynamic that subjects us to the will of "leaders".

  • We must not allow that corporate shill Obama from robbing the world of a Free Internet!(if it happens in the U.S. It will spread to the rest of the world.) It's bad enough he sighted NDAA into law. We all must not allow this to happen with out putting up a fight! I still hope SOPA will stop! A lot of companies are pulling out of supporting it. Cause they read the law! It would put a lot of them out of Business! Please spread the word.

  • Ron Paul 2012!
