Except that entanglement can't be used to transmit classical information. If you try to alter the state of part of the pair it suffers decoherence and you lose entanglement.

Think of it as two identical lunches fixed by a mother for her twins, when they open their lunches at the same time they know the other has a banana from their own part of the pair, but the banana from the other lunchbox doesn't actually go anywhere.
