@LowerComptonLad reality check for you m8 nearly every town and city in the whole of england has crappy council estates and as for adolescent cunts yep there definitely in every village, town and city so that must meen England is a shit hole then.or maybe if you travelled a bit you'd realise how lucky you are to live in such a nice safe place and in comparsion to a lot of English towns its not to bad at all.next time u get to the A4 turn left instead cherhill is nice

Landsdown is a shit hole. Calne is a shit hole. Relaxation by the river is usually interrupted by adolescent cunts. The library looks out of place. And sorry whoever filmed this, didn't show the crappy council estates that are dotted around the entire town.. sorry but false advertising is always met by reality :/

Lovely place and video.
I visited Calne in 2010 and hope to again in 2012.
Can trace my family back to here in 1544.

Nice town and video. Thumbs up!
Moved here 23 years ago. Always loved the place. Friendly people and nice atmosphere. This film does it proud.

@Birdwatchingboy I'm Chippenham Based actually, but I have friends in Calne and it always struck me as a pleasant place to live. I think it's much better since the departure of Harris's even though that created a job vacuum. It's clear that Calne folk are resilient 'cos the place seems to have recovered very well.

Came across this one today - you posted it while I was away, you sneaky beggar. In 20 years it'll be priceless, for now - brilliant. Is the Harris factory still there?

@balmesh No. The Harris factory has long gone. Its demise upset the local economy for a while, but things are back to normal now (or what passes for normal in Calne!) The Harris site is now occupied by a smashing new library and some riverside walks.
