Moyet was never taken seriously and should have been to a far greater extent.
The problem was put down largely too her looks
which is unfair, but a reality.

Check out ONE BLUE VOICE, her live DVD. She looks amazing and the interview extras are phenomal. Regarding looks, Bob Dylan remarked, "Good thing Jacob (his son, of the Wallflowers) has a Playboy Bunny for a mom, if he looked like me, he would never have been admitted to the modern club of popular musicians."
