An extract from an evening of music and song, available at: www.caherciveenparish.com.
A concert was held in the Daniel O' Connell Church, Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry, Ireland, on August 5th 2007,
to celebrate the centenary of the Magahy organ. The organ was originally paid for by the Carnegie trust.

The instrument has yet to be fully restored, but its unique acoustical relationshop within the building
can still be heard.
Organist- Dr John O' Keeffe, Soloist - Dean Power

  • It is Roman Catholic.

  • I would venture to say it is Roman Catholic, and FYI Anglican and Episcopal are the same ( Anglican in UK, Episcopal in the US) You may come across what is called Anglo-Catholic, follows the more old school Roman rite that Catholics have strayed away from.

  • My compliments to all who had a hand in restoring this wonderful pipe organ. Beautifully played. What a gem for the people of Cahersiveen to enjoy. I'd go to church just to hear the organ.

  • The reeds sound really good. Very telling. It's an organ that cries out for a pedal 16 foot reed though! I thought the organ was restored some years ago? I wasn't aware it still needed work. Nice to see it on video though!

  • What Church is this? This is a Episcopal Anglican Church?

  • What a wonderful organ this is, I played it years ago before the restoration and it certainly needed it. How wonderful to see it restored and hearing it being played by John, one of Ireland's best! A truly nice guy and gifted. Thanks for the video Cormac. The tuning is a little out on the Great, probably due to the Church being too warm, not criticising though, again, wonderful.
