What this woman just doesn't get is that gay people don't have children! The only gay people that have children have adopted them when they would not have otherwise had ANY parents. It's a stupid argument to try to justify discriminating against people. On the surface, she seems like a nice lady, but her actions are very mean and destroy the dignity of the CA constitution. Overturn prop 8!

My reason for opposing Proposition 8 is my desire that later generations of gay youth have lives to look forward to. In my generation and in the place where I was born, you could not be gay without bringing disgrace on your family. This is true even if you're celibate.
To read that an eighteen year old lucky enough to live in Southern California supports this kind of garbage is disappointing.

Where as you're merely ignorant.

It's fortunate that there's no civil right not to be offended. If there were, the Biblical incitement to murder against gays would be illegal to preach. So, fuck the it-offends-religious-people argument.
As for gays having the same rights through domestic partnership, domestic partnership doesn't provide tax equality. Every DP benefit given is taxable. Benefits given to married people aren't taxable.

A government-recognized marriage does not need to be religious for it to be a marriage.
Same-sex couples want government-recognized marriages.
There does not need to be religion involved.
-
religion is sexist and it is prejudiced, we need to keep religion separate from state
-
people are focusing too much on religion, people need to keep religion separate from state
-
Separate but equal is never equal.
Some religions will marry gay couples, like the universal church.
And you don't have to be religious to be married.
Atheists can be married.
Civil marriages have nothing to do with religion.
yes but here in California people welcome it my family and many others would not mind at all if i was gay mabe the rest of the united states could be a little more welcoming like California
