@ispaht I noticed that, too. I remember watching the NBC coverage and thinking that Lilia was absolutely flawless, but this video proves otherwise. Not that she wasn't a beautiful gymnast, because she really was. And she was a deserving AA champion.

scoring at this olympics was messed up.
i agree that lilia was a deserving winner, as she was clearly the best. but her scores are wacko. how on earth did her bars score 3/10 more than her vault?
My scores:
Vault: 9.825
Bars: 9.75
Beam: 9.825
Floor: 9.9

I'm not that familiar with gymnastics (I only knew about Lilia through Dancing with the Stars) but damn. She has so much power but she makes it look... I don't know... graceful? Or easy? I've seen some gymnasts that have power but lacking grace (or is it called "artistry?"). It's like she doesn't even have to TRY to be graceful or powerful; it's effortless for her. That's pretty damn cool.

I think it's great that she's so all-rounded...she got about the same scores for every event and that proves she's generally good in every event. Good for her, she's the only gymnast after Nadia to win the all-around and an event final in the same Olympics! :-)
