I always wondered what this piece was as I heard it identified on local radio. It was used as a background theme- PBS American Masters series, bio about the photographer Richard Avedon, as he talks about his sister who was beautiful and his first model that he photographed, yet she was admitted to a mental asylum and died young. Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World shown here is a similar fitting image of a sorrowful womans life for this sad lament by Dvorak. It's so humbling yet so inviting . . .

Whiteocean78 . . . Thank you from the bottom of my heart for uploading this brilliant version of the American Quartet in it's entirety!! One of the most sublime pieces of music ever created . . . and this is a damned good interpretation! Thumbs up for the Alban Berg Quartet!

This is such a beautiful piece. The painting captures the beauty of it, and can just stir the emotion.

A refined play. I would like to compare this with the old record of the Prague quartet.

I have also seen this painting by Andrew Wyeth of "Christina"
Curious but it reminds me of the American quality found in "Broke Back Mountain"
Chadsford, Pennsylvania
