  • How did you get this to fly? I have one and the motor is not strong enough.... It never climbs - all I can do is a few feet of level flight after which it crashes....

  • @lrjt60 Checkout picasaweb.google.com/VideoKahuna/SkySurferAPPRO_MOD#

I show details of my mods. The Sky Surfer knock offs aren't usually very good quality.

  • @videokahuna I have the same problem that lrjt60 mentioned... I can't get mine to fly more than 10 or 20 feet off the ground, and that's only for a lap or two. It seems like it's pathetically underpowered. Anyway, I tried following the link to your Picasa page, but it didn't work. Can you repost?

    Here's the correct link ( picasaweb.google.com/VideoKahuna/SkySurferAPPRO_MOD# ) copy n paste

Hopefully that will work. The wing is critical, 2 knockoffs I purchased both had defective wing construction.

But others have had better luck and it seems everyone with a knockoff wasn't happy until they upgrade.

    Good Luck.

  • @videokahuna Cool, link works now... I didn't think about the wing being critical, all videos I've seen of the Sky Surfer flying successfully have either the white or mylar wing (mine is white). I've seen a similarly sized fabric wing for pretty cheap on HobbyKing, and considered purchasing that, but I've pretty much all but given up on the Sky Surfer... I thought (well, hoped) it was just a simple battery upgrade, since my understanding of electronics is very, very slim, haha. Oh well!
