TEDxTampaBay Xiaomei Jiang SolarWindows

Xiaomei has been an assistant professor at Physics Department of University of South Florida since August 2006. Her expertise includes optical spectroscopies, organic semiconductors and optoelectronic devices, inorganic quantum dots synthesis and characterization, and solution processable photovoltaics.

Dr. Jiang is the inventor of SolarWindowTM technology, a solution-based technology used for spray-on solar tint that generates electricity from sunlight. She holds eight US & international patents.

Dr. Jiang talks about the possibilities for power generation with this breakthrough technology.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxTampaBay, where x=independently organized TED event. At our TEDxTampaBay event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
