Here is a little tour of the hunting cabin some friends and I constructed over a couple of years. We were pretty much limited to working on it over free weekends since we all hold down regular jobs. But a little time here and there adds up. You be the judge.

  • I've had a kick for the past few years to build a little cabin or tiny house. Good job!

  • @windowzombie My motivation was a similar cabin on the Trilingula Ranch outside of Big Bend National Park. A friend of mine from High School would take us out there to her Dads cabin that he and his friends built. Totally cool setup. I tried to copy most of what they did.

  • good job

  • @seatown001 Thanks! BE sure and subscribe. We plan on doing an addition to the deck on the other side. Plus we are working on a stone cabin at my cousins ranch. Just did some work on that over the weekend and hope to post the video soon.

  • Good job on the cabin.

  • @NMTrucha Thanks! More additions to come.

  • @TexasNative00 Just remember when you use poison, any animal that ingests the dead mouse could die. Ask any vet! So if you happen to have a dog who finds that good smelling rotten mouse, will possibly die himself! Use those sticky mouse catchers Instead. Blessings!

  • @equalhappiness I stoped calculating the cost of the cabin after we had it constructed. Once you start putting in this little thing and that thing here and there... it is hard to keep a record. The structure was under $3k. But as I mentioned I used a bunch of reclaimed material. The land is on family land so purchase was not an issue.

  • @sackofruit420 I am using poison but they still seem to keep coming. I hate the little buggers.

  • Great cabin TexasNative! I want to do something like that someday. What do you figure the total cost of the cabin and land was, if you don't mind me asking?

  • @TexasNative00 thats a hard one i would hunt down all the nests and entrys then fill them in with great stuff foam, a layer of caulk over that and put boxes of moth balls on the grond underneath that beautiful cabin
