@ComprimisedXInsanity pretty much. it's the result of solar wind bombarding with our magnetic field and turning into plasma

Awesome! I saw it last year in Tromsö in Norway and it was the best I ever saw.

depends on the climate. I believe the aura is the result of sun light reflecting off the atmosphere.
