@LGLG69 Yeah I was pretty certain that was the Slayer/Venom show. I remember the first time I saw Possessed I was also pretty blown away. The thing that really stood out was Jeff's vocals/voice. I never heard anything like that before.. And yeah the Summer Slam show was pretty memorable. Hard to believe it's been over 20 yrs. Good times! Take care..

@fatbackfunk Yes, they opened for Venom and Slayer. I went with a friend of mine, and i remember standing in line and hearing people talk about "Possessed". We didn't know anything about them. Once they played, we were blown away! No, I didn't go to the "Summer Slam" but I can imagine how awesome that was.

@LGLG69 They were indeed incredible that night, they absolutely killed it! I was at that show as well as this Ruthies show. Weren't they opening for Slayer/Venom that night(Kabuki)? Can't remember.Those Kabuki shows were legendary.. I'm assuming you went to a lot of those shows as well? Do you remember the Summer Slam show at the Henry J Kaiser? That was the show with Exodus, Possessed, Verbal Abuse & Suicidal Tendencies? That was fucking insane, one of the largest pits ever!

Outstanding!! Thanks for posting this.. I was at this show too, fucking stellar! I went to a lot of those Ruthies shows back in the day.. Played there quite a few times as well.. Good times! I actually dug up some old photos I took(live/backstage) from one of those Possessed/Ruthies shows. I don't think it was this show since Jeff was wearing his Black Death t-shirt but definitely around the same time(85) Anyway thanks for sharing!!!

I saw Possessed for the first time in '85 at the Kabuki in San Francisco. I had never heard of them, but they were incredible!
