I don't agree. Leontyne Price has the voice and the temperament for this opera. Many musicologists, among them Celetti & Giudici considers her study recording one of the best

A poor choice on her part. With all due respect to Ms. Price, this isn't her terrority by any means. Far from being "mandatory", it should be a lesson in how "not" to sing verismo. If this is an example of perfection, I would be afraid to hear what truly is. Her Aida and Leonora remain a testament to beautifully sung Verdi; at least before her unattractive vocal mannerisms began. Listen to Callas or Tebaldi to hear it done the right way.

Independent of the outstanding and emotive performance of Ms Price... what a celestial inspiration In Giordano´s mind to be able to compose such overwhelming music! Once again, thanks you Oneguin for such wonderful taste!

Genial gesungen. Schade, dass die Aufnahmequalität so mager ist. So hört man leider nicht ihr ganzes Stimmvolumen.
