"Deep into that darkness peering,
long I stood there,
wondering, fearing, doubting."

A short review of a fantastic and underrated game.

Sorry for the sound quality and rubbish American accent in the middle of the review. Haha.

I truly hope you enjoy this, or at least find it mildly entertaining. As I mention; keep comments, messages, opinions, questions etc coming in. I really do love reading them.

  • I bought this game sunday, and I'm about to start chapter eight, so I haven't finished it yet. But, I LOVE this game, it is so AWESOME! It's my first horror survival game, though in all honesty, I'd call it a zombie apocalypse more then I would call it a horror. It just doesn't scare me. I have to ask though, whats this about a 5th ancient? Where'd you find this out?

  • @fallensadangel Great! :) Throughout the game, the ancients tend to be represented through colour (red, blue, green being the most noticeable of course). Purple is acquired during the game as well, but from time to time you will also see yellow (most of the time through magic spells) Technically there is no 5th ancient IN the game as it was pulled out at the last minute by creators, however the yellow was left in as a sort of easter egg hinting at a 5th, and supposedly opposes Mantorok (Purple)

  • A little correction with the description at the beginning. This game was co-developed by Silicon Knights and Nintendo. Satoru Iwata and Shigeru Miyamoto took part in the development of the game.

Anyways, since they have announced a sequel to Luigi's Mansion, then there's hope that Nintendo might make a new Eternal Darkness for the Wii U. I think this one didn't sell well because of the popularity of the gamecube and because this type of game wasn't that popular. Now it is (Dark Souls, Skyrim).

  • @gamercat86 They were producers, not developers.

  • next time you review a game try not to give fucking everything away?

  • @bnvkte It's a review of a game that is 9 years old. Rofl get over yourself.

  • A game that fucks with the player's mind by doing random things to freak them out... So it's pretty much Windows Vista? :D

  • Now this is a game that needs to be ported to the PS3, XBOX360 and Wii, it's very inovative and has original and interesting ideas, if not a port to the new consoles it deserves a sequel

  • Wow. Would you say that this is easy to find?

  • @TheInnerSanctuary

    Pretty much!!! LOL!

On the serious side, I have the game and love it!! It's definitely in my top 10 favorites.

  • I love the game for it's brainy-ness, as well as it's creepy factor. A bit on the macabre side, which I enjoy.

  • @Mesmic Ah, I get it now. Thanks for the heads up. Opposite of Mantorok huh? If I remember right, Mantorok is a corpse god and supposedly all things chaotic. So the forgotten god(dess?) would be a life god and all things peaceful?
