From Comes A Time (1978)
---------------------------------------
LOOK OUT FOR MY LOVE

There's a lot to learn
For wastin' time
There's a heart that burns
There's an open mind.

Look out for my love, look out for my love
Look out for my love, look out for my love
You own it
You own it now
You own it.

There's a weight on you
But you can't feel it
Livin' like I do
It's hard for you to see it.

Was I hurt too bad
Can I show you daylight
How could I be sad
When I know that you might.

Look out for my love, look out for my love
Look out for my love, look out for my love.

Look out for my love
It's in your neighborhood
I know things are gonna change
But I can't say bad or good.

Silver wings of mornin'
Shinin' in the gray day
While the ice is formin'
On a lonely runway.

Hydraulic wipers pumpin'
'Til the window glistens
Somethin' sayin' somethin'
No one seems to listen.

Men with walkie-talkies
Men with flashlights wavin'
Up upon the tower
Time reads daylight savings.

I'm home again to you babe
You know it makes me wonder
Sittin' in the quiet slipstream
In the thunder.

Look out for my love, look out for my love
Look out for my love, look out for my love.

  • Great post. Such an awesome song and what amazing lyrics.

  • What a great tune.Neil Young does this sort of stuff a lot .It seems his ability to write melodies and cutting lyrics is not measureable even after 40 odd years or so of writing and recording brilliant songs

  • @jacobladders Hell yeah!!!

  • I was born in 1975. Comes A Time is my earliest memory of music. I have the original vinyl that my dad brought home in 1978/9. I would have been around 3 years old when I first heard it. I've literally been listening to this album for my entire life.

  • This song always reminds me of riding the bus early in the morning to Community College in fall of 1978, always played this song in my head looking out the window at the South TX countryside. After all these years I can't get enough of the riffs at 0:49 and 2:04. Shame that not such talent exists. Glad I lived that era and glad I got to see Neil live in concert in Houston in 1985. Effing A!

  • LOve these lyrics, amazing

  • @vauxhall908 mainstream never touched this shit.his record company swas wuing him for being too depressing. pop will always be pop because the heard is afraid to think and feel.enjoy what you enjoy and be glad it aint pop.

  • One of the best lyricists ever.
