A quick way to knit cables without using a cable needle (I always lose mine).
I apologize for the wind in the background. Being from North Dakota, there aren't really any non-windy days to film. I'll try to reshoot it indoors soon.

  • extremely helpful ! I just learned how to knit about a week ago and I'm already able to do these cables thanks to your video.

  • This looks a very good technique as I am also a knitter who has an escaping cable needle which needs to be hunted for at every row. Hah, now a cable needle is redundant thanks to your video.

I like your pattern and plan to use your cables against a plain background, on a jersey for my grandson. I'm really pleased you thought of this and uploaded the video. Kudos to you.

  • What if you were to CF or CB a bigger number of stitches ?

  • Woah!! Thanks!! Too bad my cb's look better than my cf's! front cables look way easier.

  • Ahhhh! That's scary!!

  • Thank you for this. Now I'm wondering why I ever bothered with a cable needle. Cheers xx

  • I tried my best to keep up but I too cannot hear everything do to the wind. Wish I could do this stitch. :(

  • Thank you for a great video. I can't understand why some people were complaining about wind noise. You were very easy to understand.

  • @spagetti568 It's not actually a written pattern, just something out of my head (a baby bunting).

And yes, I am in North Dakota :-) We are in the Great Plains which means not many trees which in turn means LOTS of wind. I'm standing on my back porch

  • Hello! This video was great and I'm sorry if you've had to answer this question before but I was wondering what the thing was you were actually knitting on. and what was the location where you filmed it. I got the strange impression of some boardwalk or ocean pier. But I know you said North Dakota so...
