In the 1960's American/Western culture swept the world... and Vietnam was no exception.

Among other things, it brought the mini-skirt, which young Vietnamese women quickly adopted.

Watch as Vietnamese women walk the streets of Saigon in mini-skirts and the equally seductive ao-dai.

A MUST SEE for all dedicated girl-watchers!

  • anyone know who sings the first song "girls"? great footage and perfect soundtrack

  • The song is 'Girls Girls Girls' by The Coasters. Released in 1961.

  • YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME. They took the music off? This is getting ridiculous.

  • Many thanks to borntowander for posting this video. This clip brought back the images of downtown saigon in 1968 with its lovely women, a city trying to maintain its normality in the middle of a major war escalation (if anyone remembers the Tet offensive). Again, thank you.

  • I would feel creeped out if someone was filming me like that! Talk about pervert!

  • A mini-skirt didn't reach the knees of a lovely maiden, it barely hung to below her buttocks. My Japanese-American girlfriend wore mini-skirts during 1966 and when she sat down, she had to pull at her hemline to cover her panties.

  • My Cherie Amour by Stevie Wonder. Great song to go along with this video.

  • @dondean55 -- My feelings exactly. Let the Communists run it without any outside aid or help. They wanted it that way and they got it. If former President Clinton hadn't normalized relations with the commie government then they would have failed. They bankrupted the nation and apologized to the people.

  • I spent two tours in Vietnam, during 1969 and 1970 then again during 1971 and 1972. I don't remember seeing any Vietnamese women wearing mini-skirts. They wore a blouse and black pajamas or the traditional ao-dai. The ao-dai was as sexy as could be to an American soldier who spent the majority of his time around ONLY other young men. I went to Japan for R&R. A friend sent up a bar girl to our room. I couldn't stop shaking because I hadn't even kissed a girl for so long.

  • I was a teenager in the 60s. There was a culture shock in Vietnam at that time. GIs were everywhere, along with bars and bars' girls. Half of Vietnamese population worked around the US' war machine and 500K GIs. USA was the real boss at that time. It was confusing, chaos. It was not typical Vietnam at all. Eventually, everything died down, meaningless. It was the time I do not wish it happened to Vietnam at all. Let Vietnam to be Vietnam with no foreigners contaminated it.

  • Nice... Asian women= beautiful hair, beautiful bodies!!
