From the book, I DARED TO CALL HIM FATHER, I draw from its pages the powerful testimony of a woman by the name of Bilquis Sheikh. Living in the 1960s, she found herself disinterested in life, unfulfilled by her Islamic faith, and at the height of an inner search for truth. With but a Bible to teach her, she gleaned an understanding about Christ Jesus that would erode all the preconceived notions about Jesus of Nazareth. She began to see just how amazing this Person was as recorded in the New Testament. Most of all, she could identify with the truth claims of the Lord Jesus in day-to-day life that is recorded in the Gospel accounts.
Upon receiving and acknowledging the God of the Bible, she took a further step of also meeting the Holy Spirit as promised/commanded in Acts 1:5. Before any theologians could get their grubby hands on her, she took God at His word and sought the Baptism with the Holy Spirit. This is that testimony.
Regardless of where you are, or what your background is, He is available to each and every one of us. Whether we need a jump-start to our faith, or simply a recharge in the Spirit, He **is** available to each of us. But understand this: the intensity of our hunger and thirsting for Him will be the response that is His Spirit raining down on and inside us...
I hope this encourages you, especially in relation to your walk with Him!
