Lyrics

She's my woman of gold,
she's not very old - a ha.
She's my woman of gold
and she's not very old - a ha.
I don't mean to be bold, but may I hold your hand?

She ain't no witch and I love the way she twitch - a ha.
she ain't no witch and I love the way she twitch - a ha.
I'm a labourer of love in my persian gloves.

She's faster than most and she lives on the coast - a ha.
She's faster than most and she lives on the coast - a ha.
I'm her two-penny prince and I give her hot love.
Hot love,
Hot love,
Hot love,
Hot love,
Love,
Love,
Love,
Love,
Love,
Love,
Love (hot hot hot hot hot hot hot)
Love,
Love,
Love (hot)
Love.

------------------------

"Hot Love" is a song by the British glam rock band T.Rex, released in 1971.
It was the group's first number one on the UK Singles Chart, where it remained at the top for six weeks beginning in March 1971; the single, however, did not fare as well in the US, where it only peaked at number seventy-two on the Hot 100.
The song reached #47 in Canada in June 1971.
It was also the first T. Rex single to feature both a bass guitar and drums.
Its success was propelled by a legendary Top of the Pops appearance, where mainman Marc Bolan appeared in androgynous clothes and covered in glitter, further solidifying the style of glam rock, first pioneered with his previous single, "Ride a White Swan".

Covers

David Essex recorded a version in 1980, which peaked at UK #57.

The Fratellis' song "Ooh La Hot Love" is a combination of Goldfrapp's "Ooh La La" and "Hot Love" and was also performed on the Live Lounge segment of The Jo Whiley Show on BBC Radio 1.
The band often plays the song as an encore, and a live version is the b-side to Baby Fratelli.

In 2004, Justus Köhncke created a schaffel track from "Hot Love" and Freiland's "Frei" for Kompakt 100.

In 2009, Kepi Ghoulie of The Groovie Ghoulies recorded a cover of "Hot Love" for the 7" vinyl series "Under The Influence" released by Suburban Home Records/Vinyl Collective.
