To people who have read the rangers apprentice books, this is not how i imagined a longbow.
-
@Stordongen These things could pierce plate armor from 50+ yards away, the romans were no match, of course the longbow didn't see widespread popularity until the end of the Byzantine Empire, i believe, of course i could be wrong.

@jamesiow75 England only adopted the techniques after besieging Wales... evidently Welsh independence was a threat to the Crown.
Besides guys, these bows are nowhere near as heavy as traditional English warbows. Archaeologists can tell whether skeletons belonged to archers because the bones in their left forearms and right fingers were deformed after constant use.
...just sayin', guys, English longbows rock my socks, but this is only part of the way to the epitome of medieval win.

@szolnok95 I'm not sure you can say one bow is better than another. It all depends on how the bow is meant to be used. I doubt that the Hungarian Horse Bow would have been as effective as the Longbow at Crecy. And I doubt the Longbow would have been as effective on horseback. ;)

I want to be a Archer. Question: What's that thing attached to their shoulder? Mind you, I know nothing about archery.

@Stordongen Don't know... Roman infantry were good with their shields
-
I thought a longbow was at least 6 feet tall!

Anyone know of the Thorpe-Le-Soken (In Essex) box group? Went to the Oyster and Archer of the fayre competition this weekend. And to fairebow to get my new traditional longbow and ammunition. wouldent mind shooting with other people at real targets..other than by myself at milk cartons over a farmers field lol

Imagine the ancient European "Barbarians" armed with wonder weapons like this during their wars with the Romans. The Roman Legions would have been cut to pieces.
