  • Was the T-33 the "Shooting Star"? or am I thinking of a different plane?

  • @lst1195 Originally, the P-80 was the "Shooting Star" and the T-33 kept the name after the fuselage modification. The Canadian version is the CT-133 Silver Star.

  • During my training as a fighter pilot I flew the T-33 (in Holland). No-one ever spoke of the T-bird as the Shooting Star. That was the official name for the F-80, the T-33 was unofficially known as the T-bird.
