I was honored to be a part of this choir for two years and I just have to defend us a bit here on the diction - we were fully aware that the words were a bit slurred here. This song is a negro spiritual and we tried to perform it in its most raw form... do you really think slaves working in the fields cared much about ending consonants? Also, the audio on this video is clearly not 100% wonderful so that adds to the problem. I'd encourage you all to watch other videos of MSU Concert Chorale or l

I think it was nice. But diction was an issue. If I didn't know the words already I'd be lost. I think singing it slow takes away from the piece the words are soon i will be done which is why i'm sure the arranger set the tempo on the score and not slow. But I could enjoy it tho. Thanks for the post love the song

I did this once upon a time. And this is the first version I've found that lets it just flow and let the dynamics run rampant, rather than the tempo. Its beautiful. Thanks.
