Great idea! As a plastics engineer, I wonder if the plastic pins have heads on them or are extruded plastic strands? If they are headed - how was that accomplished?
Thanks, Dan

It's at a kids' museum in Sheboygan, Wis. I talked to them about how they made it. Basically, they got these panels of perforated metal, though which they stuck these long plastic pins (although that's an over-simplification). What makes it cool, besides the size, is that the pins are way longer than the metal ones used in those pin art toys, so you get greater depth and detail. The thing is also MUCH lighter than those metal ones. One could do a lot of create videos, if you had the time. -jb
