  • @Darkstar1484 "One thing is that I highly doubt that there is a conspiracy to diagnose ADD, ADHD." Ok well it's your theory (no evidence provided) versus the two past editors of the DSM words & evidence that there was one. At this point I will think they are know more then you, & have provided more evidence to suggest they are right & you are uninformed.

  • @Darkstar1484 Romans 14 otherwise called the Believers freedom chapter, makes the case we can do what we want so much as it glorifies God & isn't sexually immoral or trying to glorify other gods. We have done vids on that. The main moral set out by God, is to love him & our neighbors as ourselves, U find that (neighbor part) mean? We R responsible for our actions R will B judged for them, that's scripture. The list U gave about things permissible by the Bible were OT not NT, U should know that

  • @miking193 If you believe in the divine command concept then you have effectively abdicated your morality. You are saying that whatever your holy book says is right is right and whatever it says is wrong is wrong regardless of logic or reason. That's fine, but it basically says that you aren't willing to take responsibility for your actions. The bible tells me that I can keep slaves, kill children for talking back to to their parents, kill a doctor who treats people on 'the sabbath'

  • @miking193 One thing is that I highly doubt that there is a conspiracy to diagnose ADD, ADHD. I think some of it is that people tended to overdiagnose it and too many people are willing to throw pills at problems. But bipolar disorder is a recognized part of the DSMRV and there are ways of studying it by checking brain chemical balances and the like.

  • @Darkstar1484 IF you look up epigentics, that's closer to how I see things, & it's very nuture based. Does that mean that people who were born with Mental retardation had any choice, I think in cases like that no. It's why I say I lean towards nuture, but not saying nature doesn't play a part in it to. Do you mean "divine command, morality" is God laid down what we should & shouldn't do, if so yes.

  • @Darkstar1484 We did a video called "Are You crazier then Tom Cruise" Just sent you a link. In it the top psychologist point out the short comings of labeling menatal disorders. If you have cancer, you can see the cancer cells, you can't see if you have bi polar cells. The editors of the DHM also discuss how other psycharitist were given cash from big pharma to push over diagnosing of certain illnesses that they happened to have the cure to such as ADD ADHD etc.. I lean towards nuture

  • @miking193 True, but I'm looking at people who are listed as being sociopaths at a fairly young age, there is some question as to whether this is from nature (brain chemical balances for example), nurture (how they are raised and treated) or some combination thereof. The problem that I have is this, if we want to assume that they 'choose' to be this way, then do people also choose to be schizophrenic, bipolar, etc? Also, do you believe in the divine command concept of morality?

  • @C0mm0nS3ns3 insightful
