  • Exactly what happened to the B&O?

  • It became part of the Chessie System Railroads (along with C&O and Western Maryland). In 1980, Chessie merged with Family Lines (Seaboard System, L&N, etc) to form CSX. See CSX dot history dot railfan dot net

  • Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed watching this.

  • Those are beautiful coal drags. It just looks so much more real then compared to now.

  • Thanks for posting these, it's nice to see these old lines in action.

  • its a real shame to see them go :'{

  • In an investment report it was stated that in 1987 C&O, B&O, WM were formally merged into CSX Transportation.

  • Really nice work! NelsonArtWorks has some really fine B&O prints and you can also get them directly from the B&O Railroad Museum too.

  • Great video.

    Both my mother and my father retired from CSX (formerly B&O-Chessie)

    Trains are in my blood and I love to see footage of the older ones.

  • A CLASSIC
