I love this guy. I have now seen many of his lectures many times and it is just as satisfying. Amazing!

No, science doesn't prove anything. It only refutes theories, and new evidence makes existing theories more or less probable to be true. Nothing is ever proven to be true, only tremendous amount of evidence supports an existing theory (heliocentric worldview, evolution etc), so that it is extremely unlikely that the theory is false.

For the interested, Google "Bayes theorem". It describes how the probability of something to be true or not changes with new evidence.

Solution for meth: legalize all drugs. Solution for Erie canal: allow ownership (this could be an individual or some group of individuals)

Now the make meth out of alkaline batteries and Gatorade. So that didn't work. And im pretty sure there still dumping that crap somewhere. Now they just pay for a permanent to do it. The EPA are crooks. Do a little research on how effective they have ben before assuming they solved a problem.

DDT was used extensively for years in the US and still is in many parts of the world. If it was carcinogenic to humans, to any significant extent, hundreds of millions of people should have cancer by now. Getting DDT banned was a political goal of the environmentalist Left, they proved they could gin up hysteria and manipulate politicians. Environmentalist movement is a Leftist rent-seeking organization beholden to the state.

In theory boycotting a company should work, but how often has it worked? And how long would it have taken, in the case of Erie, for the public to realize that a certain company is a culprit which needs to be taken down (whose name might be hidden in many "unrelated" products) How long would Erie canal have been on fire while the public figured out enmasse not to buy that company's products? The gov't oversteps its boundaries a LOT, but it does have a purpose. Too bad it doesn't remember that.

Who is going to stop the government from dumping nuclear waste of their state of choice? At least you can stop buying from a company if they pollute but the sad thing is you can't when government does. You can't stop paying government when they do it.

DDT was banned because it was discovered that it was a carcinogen and caused bio amplification. For example, the grass that the cows eat is sprayed with DDT and the cow eats it. Then the cow's milk is infected with DDT. The people drink the milk and get DDT in their system and as the DDT moves up the food chain, it gets increasingly concentrated and more dangerous. It accumulates in the adipose cells of the organism. Now modern pesticides are water-soluble and you pee them out.
