Wow, very cool beggarsgame I have been listening now for over 2 hours now and am missing my man again. I was fortunate enough to see him live 3 times and will never forget any of the performances. 1st time was 77' when I was stationed in Co. and the last time at Ruth Eckard Hall here in Clearwater Fl. in 2001. I am a major Danfan and Member of his site. thanks and keep up the awesome stuff. IU will post as well when I figure this out. Mikie

Donna,
This song always fills my heart with such peace and joy. I saw him on this tour in 1983, one of my dearest held memories. How amazing he was...how amazing he always was. :) Thank you for posting this and filling this sister DanFan with such joy and peace. Hugs to you!!! Julie

This just took my breath away-I have always loved "Along the Road"-so beautiful done this way by Dan-I just started crying...
It is about the journey we all have in life and how hard that "road" can be and at times, we do want to give up or feel lost-but somehow we keep going on...
Will love Dan forever- miss him and his music so much-words cannot convey...
thank you-beggarsgame.

Thanks for posting this! I have a version by Doc and Merle Watson doing this that I just love. He's a brilliant songwriter/poet, love the alliterations and rhymes. Sorry he's passed. :(

Its hard to believe a year has past since I wrote this, but it is wonderful that Cailee is a year old and LOVES to watch Dan here on YT!! I knew she had her gramma's good taste in music!!

Dan had such an old soul as if he lived many life times over. What a journey he took us on! Our dear Dan, darkness never obscured the trail to you.You were the light that shined down upon us. Thank you for being part of our lives!

Oh that voice! I'll never tire of hearing Dan, he was so gifted. He's unmatched for sensitivity and never gave the impression he was rushing through a song just to get it overwith. He was one of a kind for sure.
