you can forget karate as that means nothing. This is tae kwon do if you are using karate as a guideline it is instantly wrong. As the 7 inch head bob is what you call a sinewave and unlike karate which as i understand (although i know little comes from the hip to generate power) tkd has a different principle to power generation.

I understand what your saying. but just a sugestion you should go around and try to find an old school karate with solid deep stances a school that there kata impresses you. and then talk to the head instructor and see if he will explain to you the differences in why you do little things like front stance step and punch or ask about the variation in a sa nol maki and a shuto and the aplications of them it may be a good learning experience but its up to you learn what you can.

My man, I'd like to say that you don't know what we're going for because, other than the hip alignment, we're taught by our ITF instructors to do that. So...Like I said originally, you, from your videos, obviously execute your technique differently. Not that yours is wrong, but ours is different if we're being taught to execute our techniques like that.

I have won national championships in sparring and kata in both karate and taekwondo. So although I sound like some arogant nobody I know exactly what style you are doing and I know exactly what you are going for and its very weak when a 4th dan and a second dan have a 7 inch bob from there head depth between each step constantly pull you hands back when you move woble on your kicks and don't lock your legs on your front stances nore line your hips properly. ps. real nice flying side kick.

May I ask as to the intent of your question?
My instructor, on the left of the film, is Mr. Jesse Schane 4th Dan. I am a 2nd dan and I am on the left. We are both a part of the International Taekwon-Do Federation under President Choi Jung Hwa.
The style you study, as is exemplified by your video and speech, is more of a Japanese form of Taekwon Do and is most likely executed VERY differently than mine.
