I'm a news anchor, and read off of teleprompter daily.
I can tell you that if anyone on the air at this station made such an error, they wouldn't be on the air anymore.
This is a cheap, childish attempt by FOX to subliminally associate the two as having a commonality to inject fear into their viewers.
And anyone who can watch this garbage masquerading as news for more than an hour a year probably doesn't have the intelligence capacity to discern fact from fiction, anyhow.

Subconsciously associate Obama with terrorism in the minds of their viewers and they can pass it off as a "typo." I just hate it when people can't tell the difference between "FOX News" and "FOX" news.

@Decktrio It isn't that hard to know the difference between an "s" sound and a "b' sound.
Swapping a U for an O isn't the problem. And I find it offensive that FOX assumes that everyone is as naive as their base to accept that this was an accident when it clearly wasn't an isolated incident. 6 tmes in one day including a graphic image. It was reiterated like a daily talking point.

@bballmvp506 That *was* Fox news. No one said it was Fox News Network (the 24hr cable news network). It's a fox affiliate station, during their local segment of Fox news. I don't care if it's local or not, evening news shouldn't have slips like this. Use #Usama

@blackadm @cmurdalol Prime example of why the recognized, AP and Reuters spellings of "Osama Bin Laden", should have been changed to "Usama bin Laden" years ago... So that no one confuses Usama with Obama.

@cmurdalol I have seen today no less than 5 fox gaffes swapping obama for osama, with graphics even reading, "Osama Bin Laden is Dead"

This isn't the FOX NEWS channel. It's a local channel news station (see the 7 in the bottom right, and the guy saying "we'll have it for you at 10" or whatever). It doesn't even have the FOX News logo in the bottom right. This is stupid.
