@sammydavisjrsr I'm with you on that one. If you notice almost everything Earl says NOT to do regarding footwork and timing the current-day PBA members do. Why? Because they can. Today's USBC approved equipment allows inflated scores without the skill level of technique development. While it took a decade or more to achieve top-level proficiency, it takes only a day to match up your track and PAP to a corresponding ball for any lane condition. Earl Anthony often led a tournament with a 215 avg.
@iLuVMeTaL4LiFe now months later since i posted a comment i switched to a urethane ball and i adjusted my shot and throwing technique. now i bowl on average around a 237 or higher game. I havent quite got a 300 game yet but im on my way to it. again thanks for this video it always helps me out
There have ALWAYS been "crankers". In the golden era of bowling, the 50's to 70's, bowling balls didn't compensate for lack of skill and technique. Therefore a players improvement in the game came exclusively from developing skill in execution. This is to say, with very few exceptions, crankers couldn't compete at the professional level before the USBC began approving balls, pins and lanes that were previously illegal. Allison, Batista, Handly, Roth all cranked the ball. Revisionists are fools.
There weren't really crankers in pro bowling when this video is made. Late timing or "rushing the foul line" as Earl says it is extremely common these days with the plant and pull style of the power players these days.
when i started bowling at 7, i used to look at the pins myself to pick my target. i find its more difficult to pick your target by just looking at the pins, the range finders have been very useful for me since also i am in a league. so yea dude this video helped me out greatly too. happy bowling dude

Great videos man, these are really helping me. I've been looking at the pins a lot and I see why it's better to use spot bowling now...
