YouTube search "David Wilson Reno"- it'll be the 1:11 length vid - others have uploaded shorter/edited versions of it. In the 1:11 sec. long version the descending accident aircraft overhead is first thing you see...

I still say initial, catastrophic destruction of the elevator/elevator trim control (i.e., snapping of the elevator cable or mid-air loss of the elevator trim tab). BTW watch the David Wilson video & note the a/c's slight "jinking" motions as it dove helplessly to the ground. A conscious human hand on the stick caused that, not a sleeping pilot...

This press conference is almost completely useless. Can't hear the questions; the NTSB guy must repeat them and then answer. The answers aren't very satisfying as well...What we saw on the video is answer enough. What is obvious is this: The pilot had trouble; he pulled up and then augured in, probably after losing consciousness from the high G pullup. It was dumb luck, not the pilot's skill that kept more from being killed. Time will bear these predictions out.
