Beginning the comprehensive project of restoration of a rare Rickenbacker 4005 bass. The Jetglo, double-bound bass from 1967 is one of only a handful in existence. Over the next few months, it will be completely restored, and the restoration documented on this channel in exhaustive detail.
Stay tuned!
I bought one in 1982 from a pawn shop in Phila.. It was a single bound checkerboard... I bought it for $450..I then traded it in to Zapf's music... I was a fool! I miss that sound!

I remember seeing one of these for sale at a pawn shop a while back (early 90's) and they were asking $500 for it. Now, they're going for $10,000+

Are you going to refinish it the same color? I'm not sure I've seen a jetglo 4005 before, but I must say it's a very classy look. Definitely will be cool to see more of this bass's restoration.
