Did a real spider drop down next to him or something? I couldn't see what everyone was laughing at...

A large, white spider dropped from the rafters and slowly descended into the first row. I wish I'd been able to catch it on film (turns out it's pretty hard to focus on a floating speck in a large theater, who knew?).

Hah, so glad I wasn't in that row! (Actually, I'm in Australia, so nowhere near Neil at the moment, more's the pity.)
What did he say about it upstaging his time on stage? I can't quite catch his comment... :-)

I think he just said, "The spiders come from Up," or maybe from above? I've played back at half-speed and I still can't make it out.

That was so funny, but it was a bit disrespectful...not the spider's fault, though! I wish he'd come back.

Disrespectful, yet strangely appropriate. It figures Neil would charm the spiders down from the rafters!
