I re-encoded this one so that it didn't take so long to upload this time (it took 2.7 hours last time) so the quality isn't the greatest.

This is the second video tour of the case; showing off the HDD cage and the fans that arrived this morning. I also replaced that broken LED with one that I soldered together today.

  • your elastic strap system is great, does it do a good job of preventing vibrations and sound? how well do they hold in there? and how much is thermal performance affected by using wood instead of metal?

  • @jackmanlol

You can't hear the hard drives at all which is nice, but I am a little disappointed with how well the hard drives stay in place. If you don't move the case, they're fine, but if you move the case around on it's wheels and go over a bump it can make the drives slip. It's been 2 years since I made the case and the elastics haven't sagged much under the weight of the drives. Thermal performance is pretty top notch, AMD Athlon X2 6000+ runs at 39C with the stock cooler.

  • Damn that case is beautiful! Great work!

I took some wood working classes a few years back, but I never dreamed of anything like this!

  • @wnwanted94

    Thank you!

  • You wouldn't happen to have any plans would you? Even just simple drawings? You could make a decent dollar selling plans! And yay go Canada!

  • @HTATigersBasketball

I actually do have some rough plans available on my site, htttp://cammorrison wordpress com.
