When someone asks what Periclean Scholars is, you just HAVE to tell them! The Periclean Scholars program at Elon University can be difficult to explain, especially when telling someone you don't know. Often, we fumble over the explanation. Periclean Scholars class of 2010 doesn't just "do stuff for Ghana;" it's much more than that.
The Periclean Scholars class of 2010 is dedicated to social responsibility and civic engagement as world citizens on Elons campus. Our class is focused on the sustainable partnership of socioeconomic development in Ghana. We believe that by working with others, we can learn from one another and accomplish great things for the good of mankind. Small projects can make a big difference, and our focus on Ghana has led to the completion of a healthcare center through our Kpoeta campaign, fundraising for Heiffer international, and the support of rural development in three Ghanaian villages. We know that were only a small part—it takes support from others to make a difference. And to do thatI just have to tell you!
Take a look!
