The first in what I hope to be a series of videos conveying what I learn about the openings I study. I selected the Scheveningen variation of the Sicilian largely because of what GM Kotov had to say about his reasons for selecting it in his book "Think Like a Grandmaster". It seems its more important to master the "strategic complexities" of the opening rather than sharp and long variations. I forgot to mention that black in this opening develops while preparing to do a queen-side attack.
@LiquidEggProduct Thank you:-), not practice runs so much as some false starts. This was less a polished final take than a last ditch effort for the day, which happily went well. I've heard scheveningen a couple different ways so I'm not sure either.

It sounds like you know how to pronounce "Scheveningen" correctly. Although since I don't know how it's actually pronounced, I can't tell.
This was pretty well done. Were there a lot of practice runs?
