An awesome version of "Hey You", done in Nakano, Japan on 9/25/1980. The keyboards are quite heavy in the soundboard mix, but I think they make the song darker than the studio version. I've always liked this track, albeit I think it's one of the most depressing songs Lynott ever wrote.

  • blacksabfan, is Gorham in this? The reason I ask is that the solo is his note-wise, but it sounds like Snowy's trying to "ape" Scott's solo note-for-note-- the playing isn't nearly as fluid as Scott's. If it is Scott, he must have been in a real bad way here.

Yeah, by all accounts, Gorham is on this.

That's funny, you seem to be the only one who's complaining.

  • that shit is church......Philo forever

  • Nah this version sounds whack, the synth fucks it up

  • They got the echo calibrated wrong. It sounds weird. But I do like the keyboard.

  • Is it the same Wharton that was one of the original members of Lizzy or am I getting mixed up?

  • @fuckmegadeth fuck you megadeth could kick ur scrawny poser ass anyday of the week, and thats pretty bad that u went as far as making tht ur username dont u have anything better to do

  • great song!!!!

  • solo playing on the outro is pretty tight ....i'm more inclined to think the sloppy playing was snowy white ....anyway , that said ...i never really paid that much attention to this song over the years - but its growin on me . Dunno bout anyone else but i would love to see a set list without the obvious { boys , jailbreak , etc } and a set made up of tracks like this ...heard the others just a bit too much -plus the band would be more inspired , not playing "whiskey " for the million'th time !

  • Great track. Also recorded the day John Bonham died. RIP Phil and Bonzo.
