Real-life Indiana Jones, Niall McCann, realises a life's ambition by catching a giant anaconda. The adventurer, who has rowed the Atlantic and trekked across Greenland's Polar Ice Cap, pounced on the jungle giant, which weighed around 100kg and had a girth of 27ins. The 29-year-old biologist from Cardiff was exploring the tropical rainforests of Guyana when he happened across the monster reptile on a bank of the Rewa River. Niall, who has a passion for handling creatures that would have most people shaking in their boots, said: "I'd always dreamed of seeing an anaconda and I knew that our work in Guyana would give us a real possibility of seeing one. I was trying to hold its head to the ground and it kept trying to turn its head to bite me - it was wrestle. Its strength was amazing and when a ripple went through its body it shook all of us."

  • Guyana is the country of my parents. When you handle animals and give them viruses and diseases fom your western world and interfere wih the animals of my country, I have every right to speak out. Everything you touch, you destroy. Those animals are not immune to your germs Leave them alone.

  • Can I feed that thing my wife?

  • The white man at it again, finding remote areas and destroyings its natural habitats and resources, well done,

  • @TheSuggashawn Yeah! they like snakes.

  • As an American I believe that America does do good things for animals such as protecting whale populations, limiting rain forest activity etc. However we do some stupid shit too like what we saw in this vid. Animals like this snake can catch our diseases and we harm them in ways that we dont even understand because we mess with nature too much.

  • white ppl only catching we snakes out

  • @simplysell1 Animals could catch diseases from humans but it is rare or unlikely.Still these people should leave this anaconda alone, there's already thousands of videos of people catching anaconda except not as harsh such as taping its mouth and ect, what makes this video so special? I feel your pain when Guyana is being destroyed for stupid reasons such as tearing down to rainforest for cheap packaging supplies.I understand your mad but don't judge. Every country has stupid and smart people.

  • human beings are so annoying...wish someone wound find you in your natural habitat, tape up your mouth, bind you within their grasp, take pictures of you and put them up on the internet for tom dick and harry to see. see how you would feel.

  • @simplysell1 just stfu....

  • What is the point of this? Torturing an animal for what reason?

  • Eff that!!
