I think it is possible to hold a decent size bar of gold but you cant pick it up, because of the shape /```\ it is impossible to grip. ( I may be wrong as this is base on a TV program from a few years back, and we all know how unreliable TV can be when it comes to info)

IIRC a gold ingot is 80 lbs and a gold bar is 240 lbs. If you pick one up, just don't drop it on your foot.

Also you can't stack too many gold bars on top of one another. Gold is so soft that the weight will start melding bars together. ^_^ It even happens to copper. Some rich dude wanted to fill a swimming pool with pennies and by the end of it, he had a solid conglomerate of copper and zinc under about a foot or so of pennies.

@Arm4g3dd0nX Yeah you have to get under the bar to get any purchase on it because there isn't enough friction on the sides to lift that sorta mass... no, it would be weight in this case as it could be easily carried with any mass in zero g. Let me think, mass is density and weight is gravitational force isn't it? And weight should be measured in newtons with 1 newton being approximately 100 grams. aww i don't remember this that well and i only did a physics exam on forces last year
