I think it's funny how it's ok to dance and shout and scream at a bar or dance club or sport arena, but when you do if for God it's wierd. It's not wierd or strange it beautiful.

@drumforchurch Why are the old songs not relevant any more? What changed? Why did it change? Who changed it? Who makes these decisions? Give me an example of a song that is no longer relevant.

@ sensibleadult i have been advocating for an understanding in the music gap. I believe that no ones songs should be left out. We must simply preserve our apostolic identity. Besides many of the old songs were written by trinitarians who despised holiness as well. I understand your concern but there is a way to sing the new stuff and not be worldly. Besides the old songs arent as relevant anymore.

@ sensibleadult thank you for the info about the song i referenced as all i have ever heard sung was the chorus. Music does not go in hand with attire. We sing stuff by all those people and even my church sometimes. We make them apostolic songs though. We dress apostolic and worship apostolic when we sing them. My pastor would not allow otherwise. Ill agree Bro Dean was out of line to look and behave as he did but arguing on a public website changes nothing. Things are so different now with NAYC

@drumforchurch The very song you reference is an anti-doctrine, anti holliness standard song. There is another line in it that says," I don't care what label you may wear, If you believe in Jesus you belong with me". That means doctrine is not necessary, and we need to lay aside our differences and get along. So guess who are the only ones who end up laying something aside. The ones who believe oneness and holiness, that's who!

@drumforchurch It's interesting that you call those people legalists who don't like the music, then you are critical of strobes, fog, casual dress,etc. So doesn;t that make you a legalist, too?It's ALL being brought in by leftists, including the music. Where do you think the music originates? Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Hillsong, Planetshakers, on and on. They ALL despise holiness. and are trinitarians. Why do we have to copy them?

@jmarlin88 I am sorry to say I was there that year and it was my first time ever to go and I was like I am never going to go to youth congress again but I went this year and I will go again because it was 30times better than before I was like the first time I remember when me and my family went to nashville tenn and I was expecting it to be like that but it was a sad excuse in 07.

@drumforchurch I defently agree with you I'm from the Rocky Mountain District and we need to win souls and that's not going to happen by all of us arguing..the world knows who we are and they look at us with respect and we don't need to lose that... God bless all of yall...:)

All this fighting is being done in a public venue too. It makes a bad impression on the world whom we are suppossed to be reaching. We need to make peace with the fact that old songs arent the only songs being sung anymore. Either way I am saddened by this bickering. I think God is too. "Your my brother your my sister so take me by the hand together we will work till he comes. Theres no foe that can come between us working side by side together we will stand."
