This is the ending to the game. A little bit of it began on Final Battle's Part 3, but only about 1 minute. This is more of it. If you're curious storyline wise what's going on now, they're trying to find their way back into their own time (remember when time got compressed by Ultimecia after killing Adel). The scene with Matron (who is Edea) shows a scene from Squall's past, where at the time Squall was a kid. Matron/Edea realizes what's going on, and tells him to go back to his own time, as he does not belong there. Ultimecia shows up, defeated, to try to pass on her powers. Edea accepts them.

If you payed attention to the games dialog from way back at disc 2, you remember Cid saying that it was Matron/Edea's idea for Balamb Garden and SeeDs. But just right now you saw Squall mention it to Edea with her having no idea what he's talking about. Paradox? To further create a paradox, Edea mentions earlier in the game after she's no longer posessed that she's accepted two sorceressess powers when she was younger, one at a real young age, and another about the age she is with Squall. So that means the entire game is pretty much a paradox/time loop of itself in some way, however you can grasp that concept.

Anyway, then you're treated to a lengthy FMV with some music. This is probably why Disc 4 is so short and cities are blocked off, because of this massive FMV. Part 2 of the ending shows the rest of the FMV and credits. I didn't want to split it up like that, but I didn't have much of a choice because of Youtube's stupid limit.

Man poor Squall ... He's like finally starting to open up again after being traumatized and he's like hey I've got friends I'm not alone... then he gets stuck on some weird rock... and has to see all these weird visions of what could have happened... fucked up way to treat the hero you know?!

ahh well least he didn't get permanently stuck there and square has done worse to a hero ... Aeris... for example...

Am I the only one who laughed at the Linoa's speech "Kevin!" just in the begining ahah. I was like "We don't care about Kevin, we want Squall !!"

@FantasyCourier It's actually just his final lifes vision on what he planned on life being like. Basically a fantasy and his idea of heaven once he lays his demons to rest.
